doglife.

have I got the story for you. Yesterday I was writing a story about my dogs and my computer froze and I lost everything. How does that even happen these days? It is 2018 and this is a new laptop. What ever happened to auto save and why is there no built in option for saving items on your clipboard? Has technology not progressed that much that this type of thing comes as a standard?  I literally lost a whole day of thoughts... Not that its never happened before without the help of a computer, but when I am genuinely trying to record some things, I kinda want it to be a bit more reliable than my memory or what is the point of trying to record it in the first place? It really isn't like I am completely computer illiterate or anything, I am quite competent with numerous computer programs and work in a call centre. Why is this so hard? And why do I keep forgetting things? Could it be stress related? Does anyone even know? What is life even for? Maybe I should call this 'the dr

Pumpkin Pie

Image
Pumpkin Pie Easy and Gluten free of course For the Base -  1 cup Woolworths gf flour (cos it’s my fav) Just under 1/4 cup white or caster sugar Tsp van essence 1/2 cup Plain Greek or natural yoghurt (couldn’t find Danone last shop so I used 5am organic) Mix together with a fork then knead to form a dough. Add extra flour if too sticky (measurements are a guesstimate)  Roll out or just press into a deep pie dish and blind bake for about 5-10 mins in a moderate oven.  While its baking, I moved on to the next part: The Filling - Half small ripe pumpkin, steamed and cooled. (Got a whole one for $2 from a stall down the road) 1 can sweetened condensed milk (Aldi) 2 tsp van essence   1 tbs brown sugar  1 tsp pumpkin spice (I made my own with cinnamon, allspice and ginger) 1 egg (could omit if wanted) 1 cup gf flour (woollies brand again) 1/2 tsp baking powder Blend all ingredients together, I used a soup stick blender, but beaters or a whi

Fallen Angel

Image
Fallen Angel Graphite on A3 sized sketchbook paper. This is one of my Earlier drawings from 2011. I was pulling myself out of a dark time in my life when I drew this. It actually started out as a request from one of my friends for a 'half angel half demon', then it developed into something else, like a reflection of what I imagine the struggle within us would look like to those around us. I've had many offers for purchase of this drawing but I could never bear to part with it but I see it as a reminder that I have overcome the feeling of being in that position and it hangs inside our home. The drawing itself took 3 days with minimal sleep, a bunch of loneliness, lots of coffee and a bit of chain smoking. I used a pencil and an eraser and drew it on a piece of A3 paper in an 'el cheapo sketchbook, You will find that is generally all I use when I'm drawing. S ome parts I took reference to pictures I had previously taken of landscapes and random objects

Soo,       Here      we        are       . This is probably one of the silliest ideas I've ever had and trust me, it isn't the first time. Well -first time making a blog; not first silly idea, but you are going to realise that pretty quickly on your own without me having to tell you that. I should probably tell you about myself but I think there will be plenty of time to 'get to know me' and for me to incarcerate myself later, I assure you.. For now let's just stick with my name- its Kelli... with an I, not ie, just I. (and Yes I feel that was kinda necessary); Followed by a few things about me. Turns out I don't take many selfies,so this is me like 3 months ago, ha. One- I'm engaged to my 'high school sweetheart' or what my sister called 'my first love'. and as much of a cliché that sounds, I met him when I was like 14 and we dated for 5 weeks.. Skip 15 years of complicated details (for now) aaaand we met up again and
